is a Clinical Psychologist who is licensed in the State of Maryland and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Burgess received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited Clinical program, which utilizes a scientist-practitioner model of training. Her experience with children, teenagers, and families comes from clinics and hospitals including the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (Canada); and her experience with individual adults and couples comes from inpatient and outpatient settings as well. As a licensed Psychologist, Dr. Burgess is a Clinical Associate of Children’s Hospital.

Presently, Dr. Burgess is Adjunct Assoc. Professor of Behavioral Sciences, Psychiatry, and Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine. She is also a Research Associate Professor at the University of Maryland. She has many publications in scientific journals and book chapters, and served on the Editorial Board of the Child Development journal. Dr. Burgess has given numerous presentations at national and international conferences, as well as television interviews. Currently, Dr. Burgess provides consultations, workshops, and evaluations, as well as individual and family psychotherapy.
